Top-down seems accurate enough for room sizing but first person makes everything feel incredibly tiny. I heard at one point a tile was 3 feet wide, making a 7 tile room about 21 feet across. I have wasted so much time placing and deleting walls to make diagonal floor tiles. Still probably easier to make a fence line, so you can fill the whole area, but being able to pull individual tiles is useful some places.
